Sri T. M. Bhasin, born in May 1956, is a M. Sc (Gold medalist), LLB, MBA (Finance) from Delhi University and has joined United Bank of India as Executive Director on November 7, 2007. He is a certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers and also holds Diploma in Criminology and Forensic Science from Delhi University. He started his career with Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC) as a Probationary Officer in June 1978 and has three decades of versatile and rich exposure in all the facets of banking like Corporate Loans, Planning & Development, Economic Cell, O & M, Central Accounts and Balance Sheet Section, Inspection & Control, General Administration, Integrated Treasury, HRD, Recovery & Law, Information Technology, marketing of Bancassurance, Mutual Funds, etc. Apart from rich experience as Branch Incumbent at various branches, he was also General Manager-Regional Head of OBC’s largest New Delhi Region. He successfully handled the merger of E-GTB with OBC with sole responsibility of integrating technology platforms and product mapping and had also played a key role in setting-up the Joint Venture Company for Life Insurance business with HSBC (Insurance) and Canara Bank. He was also instrumental in formulating OIC (OBC, Indian Bank & Corporation Bank) Strategic Alliance.
Sri Bhasin has attended various foreign trainings/assignments at Harvard University (US), Institute of Directors (UK), TKS Switzerland, Natwest (UK), New York Institute of Finance (US), Bank of International Settlements (Basel), etc. As Honorary Secretary, IBA Delhi Chapter, Sri Bhasin has coordinated and organized major Banking Seminars, Banker’s Meets and other such events at Delhi under the aegis of IBA. |
