United Bank rolls out
first CBS Branch
Kolkata: 15th
January,’07: United Bank of India today rolled out its first CBS (Core Banking
Solution) Branch in Kolkata in presence of Shri P.K.Gupta, Chairman & Managing
Director, Ms Sunanda Lahiri, Executive Director of the Bank and other senior executives of
the Bank. The Bank’s Tivoli Park Branch was the pilot CBS Branch of the Bank.
United Bank has an ambitious plan of
extending the CBS facility to 600 Branches throughout the country in phases. Within the
current English Calendar year 230 more branches will be brought under CBS. The Core
Banking Solution will provide Bank’s customer with ‘One Bank
One Customer’ environment and also ‘Anywhere Banking’ facility.
United Bank has launched ‘United
Online’ (Internet Banking facility) on 6th December, 2006,
which was inaugurated by Union Finance Minister Shri P. Chidambaram. This Online Banking
provides e-payment of Taxes, Balance Enquiry, Fund Transfer and hosts of other
services.
The Bank has already provided
‘Mobile & Tele Banking’, Multi Branch Banking, Fund-transfer through RTGS (Real
Time Gross Settlement), etc facilities to its customers.
The Bank has its own 130 ATMs on 24 x 7
basis. Further, the Bank has entered into ‘Cash Tree’ arrangement whereby
2300 ATMs can be accessed with by Bank’s customers. The Bank has tied up with VISA
and provides International debit Card to its customers who can access about 10,000
ATMs in India.
